Welcome to ThankYouMCR.net, a site devoted to commemorating the positive influence that My Chemical Romance has had upon their fans. Within this site, you'll find stories written by My Chem fans worldwide who have found the strength to overcome obstacles, turn away from self-destruction, and face life "awake and unafraid" because of the band's example and message. Despite our many differences, we have one thing in common: we are better people, we are healthier and happier, because My Chemical Romance is a part of our lives. Thank you, MCR.

Shameless promotion of a worthy goal...
On Saturday, November 8th, I will be walking five kilometers in support of the fight against ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), in order to raise funds for the ALS Association of Georgia. It would be great if you could sponsor me, with any amount you can afford.

I'm walking in support of Melissa, one of the coolest people I know, who was unfortunate enough to be stricken by this disease. She's fannish, active in Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter fandom; as far as I've heard, our team will be doing the walk in costume. (I'm planning on a hybrid of pirate costume and ThankYouMCR.net baseball cap, at the moment.) I'm way out of shape, and it's been years since I've walked five kilometers, but making a difference for Melissa, and others in her predicament, is worth it to me to make the effort.

To sponsor me, go to http://als.7-d.org and make your donation. Anything you can contribute, any little bit of help you can offer, is greatly appreciated. Think of it as an early birthday present to me. Thanks.
The reports of his death being GREATLY exaggerated...
If by chance you come across "news" of Gerard having died in a car crash? It's a HOAX. Proof here. (Warning: not safe for work.)

It's funny how the people at this site think MyChem fans are pathetic... yet the best thing they can think of to do with their time is this.

Anyway. It's all good. Relax. :)

Cheers,
Jamie
Random Appearance of a Mikey Way T-Shirt
Gotta love those American July 4th traditions: fireworks, picnics, barbecueing...

...That would be me and my nephew. No, the grill WAS NOT LIT. Jeez.

To the Americans out there, hope your Fourth of July was as good as mine. To the rest of the world, eh, just another day, but I hope you've had a good weekend. :)

Cheers,

Jamie
Congrats!
According to the liner notes for The Black Parade Is Dead, posted on LiveJournal by "restriction", Ray Toro either is or is in the process of becoming a daddy.

We don't know whether this is old news or new news or what, but either way, congratulations, dude! and congratulations also, by the way, on your l33t ninja skills, in letting us find out this way. :)

Leathermouth Tour w/Reggie & The Full Effect
In case you haven't heard yet, Frank Iero's other band, Leathermouth, has tour dates lined up through August and September with Reggie & The Full Effect. Presale tickets are up for grabs now - check out reggieandthefulleffect.frontgatetickets.com for details.

Some of the TYMCR gang appear to be converging on Buffalo, New York for the show there (why Buffalo? well, why not Buffalo?) so if you figure you might be headed that way, drop me a line at the email address at the foot of this page or the one at jamie.thankyoumcr.net and let me know!

Cheers,
Jamie
MCR Merch and Video News...
Hi, folks,

In my regularly scheduled perusal of My Chemical Freak, I got the word that the official My Chemical Romance online merch store (click here) is apparently running a "hidden" sale on preorders of the deluxe version of The Black Parade Is Dead. It says $59.99 when you add it to your cart, but once you get to checkout, the price is shown as $44.99 - a savings of $35 over the original pre-order price.

I checked this out for myself, and found that the limited edition of The Black Parade CD is also on sale, for $5 off. PLUS, for those of you who missed out on the merch from the last brief "OMG WHY ARE WE STILL ON THE ROAD??!!!" tour of the U.S., some of the t-shirts are also available in limited quantities for sale, including the T.Oro shirt and the Medusa "old school" tour jersey with the dates on the back. Alas, there are no Mikey F***in Way shirts available; but it's still a last chance at that merch before it's gone forever, so if you're interested, better check it out now!

On top of all this, there's apparently a new trailer out for The Black Parade Is Dead on Youtube - you can see it at My Chemical Freak, here!

Thanks to Brandi at My Chemical Freak, for being on top of things as always, and giving me something to write about. :)

Site Improvements
First of all, many thanks to our very own Amanda for the new site header!

We've also made some back-end changes to the site which should make it easier to navigate and to bookmark URLs of stories. A convenient and easy-to-read link to each story is now found on that story's page, to make it easy for you to find or link to your story or someone else's.

Stay tuned for more improvements in the coming weeks and months, and of course more of YOUR stories here on ThankYouMCR.net!
